Data-Deduplicate (Dedup) On Production Power by Acronis Backup & Recovery 10เราเคยคุยกันเรื่อง การทำ Data-Deduplicate โดยใช้ Acronis Backup & recovery มาแล้ว วันนี้มีโอกาส ได้นำเสนอการ ใช้งานจริง ของการสำรองข้อมูลในระดับ Block-Level (ลึกกว่าระดับไฟล์ โดยพิจารณาระดับ Sector บนดิสก์) และใช้ความสามารถ Data-Deduplicate ทั้งฝั่ง Client และ ฝั่ง Server (Client-Side + Server Side) ผมเลยนำมาเขียนเป็น Case Study กัน Case :- ลูกค้ามี Server 15 เครื่อง โดยมี Data เฉพาะ Drive C: ประมาณ 20 GB
ต้องการสำรองข้อมูล แบบ Full ทุกวัน ไปบน Storage Node ขนาด 270GB และให้สามารถเรียกคืนข้อมูลได้อย่างน้อย 2 วันก่อนหน้า
และต้องตรวจสอบความถูกต้องว่าสามารถกู้กลับคืนได้ อุปสรรค :- 1. หากเก็บไฟล์ธรรมดา data 20 GB ตีว่าใช้งานจริง 10GB เก็บข้อมูล 15 เครื่อง 2 วันต้องมี ที่เก็บ Storage Node อย่างน้อย 300 GB ซึ่งในที่นี้ Disk ไม่พอแน่นอน
2. การ Backup Full ทุกวัน ถ้าเป็นระบบสำรองแบบไฟล์ จะมี ข้อมูล วิ่งอยู่ใน Network วันละ 150 GB ไปยัง Storage Node ความเร็ว Network 100 Mbps ต้องใช้เวลาในการ สำรองข้อมูล 3-5 ชั่วโมง ขึ้นกับจำนวนไฟล์ ผลจากการใช้ Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 + Data Deduplicate |

Acronis inc. ได้เปิดตัว Acronis Backup & recovery 10 อย่างเป็นทางการในประเทศไทย เมื่อวันที่ 5 สิงหาคม 2009 โดยแนะนำ ความ
สามารถใหม่ อย่าง Data deduplication และรองรับการใช้งานกับ Virtual environments ไม่ว่าจะเป็น VMware, Microsoft Virtual Server Hyper-V หรือ Xen พร้อมกับหน้าตา GUI แบบใหม่ที่ลดจำนวน Click และบริหารจาก ศูนย์กลางได้อย่างสะดวกยิ่งขึ้น
Acronis Backup & recovery 10 ผลิตภัณท์ใหม่ ของ Acronis ผู้นำการจัดเก็บข้อมูล ในระดับ Block หรือ imaging โดยใน Version ใหม่นี้ ได้มีการ rename ชื่อผลิตภัณท์ใหม่เพื่อให้ตรงต่อลักษณะของผลิตภัณท์มากขึ้น ในชื่อ Acronis Backup and Recovery และยังนำเสนอ Plug-in ใหม่ที่จะช่วยลดขนาดของ Backup Storage ได้มากกว่า 90% โดยอาศัยความสามารถในการทำ Data Deduplication (กำจัดความซ้ำซ้อนของข้อมูล) ที่ทำได้ทั้งจากต้นทาง(source deduplication) และปลายทาง(target deduplication) และความสามารถนี้จะช่วยลดขนาดของข้อมูลและต้นทุนของ Storage ในองค์กรลงได้อย่างมาก.

USB Lock RP: Endpoint security that is not a pain in your end!
I remember and I am still suffering somewhat from PEST (Proper Endpoint Security Trauma). It exists, it really does. You may call it something else in your organization. Perhaps you use a more familiar term like “end-user trying to plug in a USB device on my network and completely supersede our security policy”.
